TOMIYASU MAKES WINNING DEBUT AT ARSENAL

Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasumade his debut for Premier League giants Arsenal against Norwich City on Saturday afternoon. The Japanese utility player was named in the Arsenal starting XI following his big transfer from Bolognaon deadline day as far as this summer’s transfer window is concerned.Arsenal paid around £17m to secure the signing of the Japaninternational.

 

Arsenal started the latest Premier League campaign with three straight defeats but they were able to stop the rot by beating Norwich City at home thanks in part to the influence of Japan footballer Tomiyasu and his other teammates who were involved in the win at home to Norwich City.

Brentford claimed a big scalp on the occasion of their first game in the Premier League at the expense of the Gunnersin what was a London Derby encounter. In the first Premier League game this season, Brentford scored twice either side of the halftime break to beat Arsenal 2-0 at home. Spanish footballer SergiCanos and Danish international player Christian Norgaard were the goalscorers for the newly promoted team.

Arsenal then lost 2-0 at home to London rivals Chelsea in their second league game of the season. Belgian national team star RomeluLukaku scored the first goal of the game for the Blues on his second debut for the club before England international defender Reece James added a second goal for the visitors. Chelsea scored the two goals in the first half of the game. The Gunners then lost 5-0 at the home of Premier League champions Manchester City just before the international break to make it three successive defeats at the start of the current Premier League season.

Japan national team defender Tomiyasustarted the fourth league game of the season for the Gunners at home to Norwich City on the right side of defence and he lasted for a little over an hour before he was replaced by Emile Smith-Rowe. The scoreline was goalless at the time of his exit but it didn’t stay that way for long after club skipper Pierre-EmerickAubameyang scored from close range five minutes later. It turned out to be the only goal of the game as the Gunners picked up their first win of the season in the league.
